Clarets Striker Interesting Eredivisie Duo

Ajax & FC Twente Chasing Clarets Striker Wout Weghorst

There are reports coming out of Holland that Ajax and FC Twente are both considering making an offer for Clarets striker Wout Weghorst. The Dutch International has spent a couple of seasons away from Turf Moor on loan at Manchester United and Besiktas as well as the 2023-24 season in Germany with Hoffenheim. Wout Weghorst, scored seven goals in twenty-eight Bundesliga appearances.

Weghorst, who is not a fans favourite at Turf Moor having made twenty appearances in the Premier League for the Clarets as the club was relegated to the Sky Bet Championship. The Dutch International lost the support of the fans by asking to move clubs straight after the relegation and refusing to play for the Clarets in the Sky Bet Championship.

Ajax are considering a move for thirty-one year old striker and the Amsterdam club are not the only Eredivisie side interested in bringing the Dutch International to the league. The second club FC Twente are also considering the Burnley forward for the 2024/2025 season. Burnley would consider a loan move but they would prefer a transfer fee for the striker who is still under contract at Turf Moor until 1st July 2025.

Ajax are only considering a new striker if Chuba Akpom leaves the club this summer. They have already seen one of their 2023 summer signings in George Mikautadze leave, with the Georgian returning to FC Metz.
