Bradford City Open Top Bus Parade
A crowd of over 10,000 came out to welcome Bradford City home and to celebrate an amazing season. The 2012-13 campaign has seen the Bantams visit Wembley twice, in the first appearance they became the Capital One Cup runners up and in the second they achieved promotion to NPower League One via the play-off final.
The Bantams travelled from Valley Parade in three open topped buses into the City Centre, where the players, management and chairmen thanked the supporters gathered in a packed Centenary Square.
Once in Centenary Square each player took his turn to lift the Play-Off Final trophy, while the other players threw signed miniature footballs into the crowd as a thank you for the loyal support over the season.
A number of the squad including manager Phil Parkinson, skipper Gary Jones, club captain Ricky Ravenhill, striker Nahki Wells and joint-chairman Mark Lawn addressed the supporters, to express their thanks.
Having been behind the scenes as a photographer at Valley Parade all season, I can honestly say that Bradford City is without doubt the most welcoming club in the football league.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Harrison and all of the media match day team for their hospitality and for allowing me to be part of this amazing season.
