FC Halifax Town 1 v 0 Southport (Skrill Conference League)
FC Halifax kept up their 100% home record with a 1-0 win over high flying Southport at the Shay. Both clubs took part in a minute’s silence before kick-off as a mark of respect to Tim Conway a life long FC Halifax supporter, who sadly passed away.
The game was a fitting tribute, as FC Halifax and Southport both played their part in an entertaining game. The sides were equally matched throughout the game and one moment of magic from Kevin Holsgrove sealed the game.

Southport had reason to complain just after the hour mark, when Ryan Toulson was shown a yellow card for a head-high challenge on Karl Ledsham that could have so easily been a straight red card.
The incident left Ledsham down receiving treatment for five minutes, before the Southport midfielder was replaced and sent back to the dressing room for stitches in a head wound.
On eighty minutes, Matty Pearson dragged a shot wide of the Southport right hand post, this was following a number of efforts on the Southport goal which were well blocked.
