Bradford City Ladies 7 v 0 Skipton Town Ladies (West Riding League)
The second league game of this double header followed the same pattern as the first, after just two minutes from a Laura Gadd corner, Bradford took the lead when Skipton defender Louise Forster tried to clear the ball, but only managed to slice the ball into her own goal to give Bradford a 1-0 lead.
Skipton then had a period of possession but they failed to create any clear cut chances, then on twenty minutes Jess McPherson added a second goal, before Lucy Turner scored an outstanding third goal from 18 yards which smashed into the roof of the Skipton net to make it 3-0 at half time.
Bradford City controlled the second half and added a further four goals, two minutes into the second half Olivia Cheetham sent an excellent pass through to Jess McPherson for her second of the game. Katie Morris then had a volley blocked by the Skipton defence before Laura Gadd beat a couple of Skipton defenders before slotting in the fifth goal of the game off the post.
Following good work on the right, the ball was crossed into the box where Olivia Cheetham (Goalkeeper from the first game) smashed the ball in the bottom of the goal to the delight of all the spectators and team mates. Lucy Turner got her second of the game with another good shot from outside the box to make the final score 7-0 to City!
Following the two victories Bradford City were named West Riding League Third Division Champions with a 100% record and one game to go against Wetherby. They are also looking to complete a league and cup double when they play Wetherby in the West Riding League Cup Final next Tuesday.
