Michael Duff Signs 1 Year Contract Extension
Burnley Football Club have today confirmed that Michael Duff has signed a new one year contract extension, which will see the 36 year-old defender extend his stay at Turf Moor were he hopes to play a big part in the Clarets forthcoming Premier League campaign.
Duff who is the sole survivor from the Clarets squad which played in the Premier League in 2010 insists the club can surprise their doubters second time around.
Speaking after signing his new contract Duff said: “I spoke to the manager at the end of last season and he said he wanted to keep me. Since then it’s just been a case of sorting out the details. I wanted to stay, obviously, because it’s another chance in the Premier League.
It took me until I was 30 to get there the first time around and then I was injured for the first three months. That and getting relegated made it a disappointment, so to get another opportunity at thirty-six when you think it may have gone, was something to grab with both hands”.
