Former City Keeper Joins Alfreton Town

Matt Duke signs for Alfreton Town

National League North side Alfreton Town have today confirmed that former Bradford City and Premier League goalkeeper Matt Duke has joined the club on a one-year deal.

Duke, who made one appearance for Alfreton Town in a trail spell back in 1999, also played in the Premier League during a seven-year spell at Hull City.

During his career he also played for Sheffield United, Burton Albion and more recently Bradford City, who he helped reach the Capital One Cup Final in 2013.

He left Valley Parade to join Northampton Town in 2013, however he was released at the end of last season.  Duke will be teaming up with his former City colleague Niall Heaton who is playing centre-back for Alfreton.
