Luke Hendrie Extends Clarets Contract
Burnley Football Club have confirmed that defender Luke Hendrie has extended his contract at the club, signing a new 18-month deal at Turf Moor. The versatile defender is currently on loan at Sky Bet League Two club York City.
Hendrie, who joined Burnley in August 2015 from Derby County had six months remaining on his current contract before extending his stay. He made his Football League debut for Hartlepool in a 1-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge in October.
The former Manchester United and Derby County youngster is delighted to have extended his Turf Moor stay. Speaking about signing a new contract he said, “The six months I have had here so far have gone well.
Unfortunately I picked up a little ankle injury that put me back for a few weeks, but I am delighted to have extended my stay here. The plan was to come here and pick up as much knowledge as possible and get some more experience on loan, which I managed to do while on loan at Hartlepool.
After returning from Hartlepool through injury I got myself back fit at Burnley before joining York City last week, so I’m excited about the loan at Bootham Crescent and the next 18 months at Turf Moor.”
