Carlisle United bid for Gary Liddle
Carlisle United manager Keith Curle has revealed the club has made a bid to land Bradford City midfielder Gary Liddle. The player is in his second season at the Coral Windows Stadium after signing from Notts County has made 76 appearances for the Bantams scoring 4 goals.
Speaking about the bid Carlisle manager Keith Curle said, “We know he’s out of contract in the summer, we have had a bid refused and as yet we haven’t been given permission for me to speak to the player.
That means we’ll leave the powers that be to do their work, but there isn’t really a transfer market at this level for a player who is coming out of contract with his club at the end of the season.
I’ve made the approach because he’s a player I think could add certain qualities we need to our squad. I have a valuation in my mind for him and I’ve given that to John Nixon (Managing Director).
We’re both of the understanding that we know what we want and we know our price. We haven’t exhausted our approach on this one, but we’re close.”
