Dyche Extends Contract

Burnley Football Club have today confirmed that manager Sean Dyche has signed a contract extension with his side currently third in the Championship.  The length of his deal has not been disclosed, but has been described as a “new and improved contract”.

Dyche, 44, took over from Eddie Howe in charge of the Clarets in October 2012 and guided them to the Premier League in his first full season in charge.  However, the former Watford boss saw his side relegated from the top flight after only one season.

Dyche was linked with Sunderland and Aston Villa after they sacked their managers earlier this season, but will now look to lead Burnley to promotion for the second time.

Speaking to the club’s website manager Sean Dyche said, “We have been building something here for the last three-and-a-half years and there have been lots of good times and lots of changes. We want more good times here and I want to be a part of that.”

Burnley chairman Mike Garlick said, “I think what we have currently is the best manager in the Championship and what Sean and I really want is for him to be the best manager in the Premier League.”
