Andre Gray Voted Championship Player of the Year
Burnley Football Club striker Andre Gray has been awarded the prestigious honour of being named the 2016 Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year.
The Clarets striker has scored 24 goals this season of which 22 have helped the Clarets of ignite their promotion charge, deservedly earned him the award at the annual Football League Awards Dinner in Manchester.
The 24-year-old, who pipped former Brentford team mate Alan Judge and Fulham’s Ross McCormark, is the second Burnley player to win the award in three years, following Danny Ings’ success in 2014.
The Sky Bet Player of the Year awards were voted for by managers of the clubs in each division. Each manager was asked to list their top five players from this season in order, with the votes added up and the overall top 3 forming the shortlist.
