Farsley Celtic Sign Luke O’Brien
Farsley Celtic are delighted to announce their third signing for the new season, as experienced defender Luke O’Brien signs for the Celts from Shaw Lane Aquaforce of the Northern Premier League (NPL) Division One South.
Luke has Football League experience with Bradford City, Exeter City and Oxford United, as well as spells with Gateshead, Thackley and Bradford Park Avenue.
The left-back will be familiar to fans at Farsley having featured for Bradford City in friendlies at the Nest in previous seasons and in the FA Trophy and Integro Doodson League Cup fixtures last season for Shaw Lane Aquaforce against the Celts.
On signing for Farsley Celtic Luke O’Brien said, “I wanted a new challenge for myself, which playing in the NPL Division One North against different teams and players provides as an incentive.
My main hope for the forthcoming season is to gain promotion with the club, I think this season could be a great chance to do that with the quality of players already here and the two new players (James Walshaw and Richard Marshall) who have signed so far this summer.
My personal targets are to cement my place in the team as the starting left-back and give it my all in every game I get picked for, to train every week and give 100% and I think that’s what every fan wants to see from a player.”
