Paul Robinson Signs Contract Extension
Former England international and Burnley goalkeeper Paul Robinson has today signed a one year extension to his contract with the newly promoted Barclays Premier League Club.
Robinson, who provided back-up to Tom Heaton last season following an arm injury to Matt Gilks, has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Clarets. He won 41 caps for England, progressed through Leeds’ academy and has had spells at Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers making a combined total of 421 appearances.
He joined Burnley on a short-term deal in January and has today extended his contract for a further year.
Speaking about the contract extension manager Sean Dyche said, “We are delighted to have Paul back on board, he continues to work hard at his profession and his wealth of experience is hugely beneficial to the team and the goalkeeping department.
Our other goalkeepers, especially the younger ones will continue to improve while Paul is with us and we look forward to working with him again this coming season.”
