Burnley Chasing Italian International Mirko Valdifiori
According to the Sky Sports Transfer Centre, the Clarets are currently interested in signing Italian International defensive midfielder Mirko Valdifiori from Serie A club Napoli.
Born in Russi, Romagna, Valdifiori started his professional career in 2004 in Serie B with Romagnol club Cesena. He spent four years at Cesena making just 3 appearances, whilst at the Cesena he went on loan to Pavia and Legnano.
Valdifiori then transferred to Serie B club Empoli in 2008 for a fee of €520,000 he spent a further 7 years at Empoli where he made 234 appearances, scoring 4 goals.
On 20 June 2015, Valdifiori officially joined Napoli for a reported fee of €5.5 million joining former Empoli coach Sarri at Napoli and becoming Maurizio Sarri’s very first signing. After having a very successful first season in the Italian top flight at Napoli and getting his first call up for the Italian national team by Italian National Team coach Antonio Conte.
