Former City Player Dylan Mottley-Henry Signs For Barnsley
Barnsley Football Club have today confirmed the signing of promising youngster Dylan Mottley-Henry who will link up with the Development Squad. Mottley-Henry joins the Reds on a 6 month deal after recently leaving Bradford City, where despite being just eighteen years old he has already broken into the senior squad.
The young wide man made two first team appearances for the Bantams against Preston North End in April 2015, followed by a substitute appearance against Peterborough United back in September.
Dylan has recently been on trial at Barnsley and put in a solid performance in the first half of the clubs opening pre season friendly against Stalybridge Celtic. He has already made a big impression in training by surpassing the likes of Marc Roberts and Kayden Jackson in the pre season sprinting and fitness tests, becoming the current fastest player at the Club.
Barnsley Development Squad manager Bobby Hassell said, “Dylan has unbelievable pace while also being very athletic; he’s been able to slot straight in and train with the first team this past week. He also played 45 minutes against Stalybridge and showed fantastic potential. He fits the DNA of what the first team are looking for and I believe we have a top prospect on our hands.”
