Burnley Chasing Flanagan Loan Deal
Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan is considering a season long loan move to Premier League new boys Burnley Football Club. The Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes the defender would benefit from a year of playing first team football away from Anfield.
Flanagan returned to action in January after an 18 month battle with a knee injury. He impressed Jurgen Klopp to such an extent he was rewarded with a new three year contract in March and the Reds boss still sees Flanagan as part of his long term plans.
Flanagan has proved his fitness in pre-season by not missing a single training session, however the full back was left out of the squad to face Huddersfield tonight and has been given the chance to join Burnley for the season.
However, with Nathaniel Clyne established as the club’s first choice right-back and Liverpool not having European football this season, Klopp has come to the conclusion that a spell away from his boyhood club would be better for Flanagan’s development.
