New Saints Sign Former Claret Wes Fletcher
The New Saints of Oswestry Town have this afternoon confirmed the signing of former Burnley striker Wes Fletcher on a two year deal. Having been on the books at both Manchester United and Liverpool, Fletcher signed his first professional contract at Turf Moor, Burnley having come through the youth system.
Having played twice for the Clarets first team he also enjoyed short term loans spells at Grimsby Town, Crewe Alexandra and Yeovil Town whilst at Burnley Football Club.
Fletcher signed for York City in the summer of 2013 and in his first-season, finished the club’s top goalscorer, netting 13 goals in 36 appearances for the Minstermen.
He spent last season in Scotland with Motherwell, however TNS have been able to finalise the deal and have confirmed that he will wear the number 10 shirt for the Dafabet Welsh Premier League Champions this season.
