Clarets Midfielder Ulvestad Loaned to Charlton
Burnley Football Club have this evening confirmed that midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad has joined Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan. The midfielder becomes Russell Slade’s 11th signing of the summer.
Ulvestad began his professional career with his hometown club Aalesunds FK, making his debut in 2010, he established himself as a regular in Aalesunds’ midfield and went on to make 132 appearances for the club during a four-year period, scoring 20 goals.
Ulvestad then made the move to Burnley and last season played five times for the Clarets in the Championship as they won promotion to the Premier League. He has also played for his country making one full international cap for Norway, having also represented his country at U23, U21 and U20 level.
Speaking about the signing Charlton manager Russell Slade said, “Fredrik is a box-to-box type of midfielder, he has loads of energy and can cover ground effectively, plus he is very tidy on the ball as well.
He’s extremely fit and has probably been a bit unlucky to not have had more of an opportunity at Burnley. He’ll add a different dimension to us. He’s different to what we have got and that is exactly what I wanted.”
