Padiham FC Player & Officials in Car Crash
Yesterday’s game between Padiham FC and West Didsbury & Chorlton was postponed after a player and officials from the East Lancashire football club were involved in a car crash.
The car carrying Padiham Football Club chairman Sean Astin, secretary Alan Smith, physio Zara Harrison and player Aurelian Ilustin Gohoreanu was involved in an incident that took place on the M60 when a Ford transit van hit the clubs vehicle from behind.
All passengers in the vehicle were all taken and treated at Tameside Hospital but suffered no serious injuries, they were all released a few hours later. Padiham FC manager Steve Wilkes said, “It really shook me up when I heard about the accident but thankfully no one was hurt and everyone is now safe at home.
As news broke of the incident the Lancashire Challenge Trophy 2nd round match against West Didsbury & Chorlton was postponed and will now be played at a later date. I would like to wish everyone a Padiham Football Club all the best.
