Meredith Set to Join Yorkshire Rivals
Bradford City left-back James Meredith is being linked with a move to Yorkshire rivals Leeds United, claims Australia football magazine (Four Four Two). The twenty-eight year old Australia international, has entered the final six months of his contract with the City and is on the radar of the Championship high flyers.
The Yorkshire giants’ first choice left-back Charlie Taylor is also out of contract next summer after he rejected talks over a new deal with United earlier this year. Bringing in Meredith could mean Leeds manager Gary Monk has given up in his attempts to tie down Charlie Taylor as Premier League clubs look to make a January move for the full back.
Bradford’s number three is known for his explosive speed and willingness to get forward and provide his side with an attacking outlet on the left flank. He has scored once for the Bantams this season against Bristol Rovers, as well as turning provider against MK Dons during his 22 league and cup appearances this season.
Coming through the ranks at Derby County, Meredith could also be brought to Elland Road to provide cover for Taylor with youngster Tyler Denton not yet considered ready for regular first-team action.
