Stade Rennes Winger Grosicki Wants to Join Clarets
At the end of the summer transfer window Burnley almost secured the services of Polish International Kamil Grosicki, who jumped on a plane from Poland to sign for the Clarets. However as the player arrived in Manchester to conclude the deal his French club Rennes increased the asking price and the deal collapsed.
French newspaper L’Equipe have said this week the Rennes Football Club look to reduce their squad as they need to sell some players. However, the problem for Rennes is that clubs tend to want to buy the players they don’t want to sell, rather than those being ushered towards the club’s exit.
Kamil Grosicki has already told the club that he wants to leave during this transfer window, having been furious when his move to Burnley failed in the summer. Rennes have not received any ‘concrete offers’ for a Grosicki and L’Equipe believe it’s unlikely any club will beat the €8m offered by Burnley in the summer.
It goes without saying this scenario presents an opportunity for Burnley and Sean Dyche, if Burnley still want Grosicki, there’s a fair chance that an €8m offer could do the trick in January.
