Defour’s Agent Starts Chinese Rumour

Steven Defour’s agent has refused to rule out a future move to China for midfielder, who returned to the Clarets’ subs bench this Bank Holiday Monday as the club travelled to Manchester City for their latest Premiership match.


The Belgium international was named in Sean Dyche’s starting line-up for the first time in three weeks on New Year’s Eve as Burnley thrashed relegation rivals Sunderland 4-1 at Turf Moor.  However he could find his place under further today as the club resigned Joey Barton today following a rocky spell at Rangers.

Defour’s agent, meanwhile, has spoken about the prospect of his clients joining football’s gravy-train in the Far East with clubs in the Chinese Super League targeting more players in Europe.  Paul Stefani said, “China, Why not, If you play three seasons there you will never have to work again. It’s a wonderful experience and the interest is growing.”
