Clarets Appoint Nicky Law As Head of Academy Recruitment
Burnley Football Club have today confirmed the appointment of Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law as the Head of Academy Recruitment, Law will focus on the recruitment of 16 to 21 year old players for the club.
Nicky, joins the clarets from Alfreton Town, where he has been the manager for the last ten years. He brings a wealth of experience to the role and has previously been manager at Bradford City, Grimsby Town and Chesterfield.
He has identified and developed a number of young players over the years, for example, Aden Flint at 17 (currently at Bristol City), Kyle McFadzean at 18 (currently Burton Albion) and gave current AFC Bournemouth captain, Simon Francis his league debut at 17 years old after bringing him from the South Notts College programme.
Nicky will work closely with the U18 & U23 coaches, Jonathan Pepper (Academy Manager) and Chris Sulley (Head of Coaching) in identifying and recruiting any players in these age groups. Nicky will also be responsible for monitoring any players on loan from the U23 Development Squad.
