Clarets Prepare Second Bid for Brett Assombalonga
Burnley Football Club are preparing a second bid for Britt Assombalonga after having an £8million offer rejected earlier today by Nottingham Forest, Clarets boss Sean Dyche is undeterred by Forest’s stance over Assombalonga and is determined to sign the DR Congo striker after handing him his pro debut at Watford in 2012.
Nottingham Forest are looking for at least double the £5.5million they paid Peterborough United for Assombalonga, who scored 14 goals in the Sky Bet Championship last season.
Forest believe they can also take a tough line with the Clarets because the 24-year-old hitman signed a five-year deal at the City Ground in September. Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk also wants Assombalonga, but Burnley are in pole position because they can offer him Premier League football.
