Six Loan Players Return Home

Burnley Football Club have this afternoon confirmed that six young players have returned back to Turf Moor following the end of their loan moves to other clubs.

Aiden O’Neill (Fleetwood Town)


Aiden O’Neill has made 27 appearances for the Cod Army during his time at Highbury and has been called up for Australia’s Under 23 squad for the U23 AFU Championship, which means he will be missing for the entire month of January 2018 whilst away with the Socceroos.  Fleetwood manager Uwe Rosler said, “I’d like to thank Aiden for his efforts whilst at Fleetwood Town and wish him all the best for the future.”

Alex Whitmore (Bury)


Having Had a successful loan last season at Morecambe, Alex Whitmore has spent the first half of this season on loan at Gigg Lane with Bury making just 8 appearances in Sky Bet League One.

Jimmy Dunne (Barrow)

Jimmy Dunne will return to Turf Moor having made 21 appearances for AFC Barrow in the Vanarama National League so far this season. There is no doubt that Jimmy has a bright future ahead of him, and we all wish him well for his future career.

Manager Ady Pennock is working hard to find a replacement for Jimmy as soon as is possible, and is currently in talks with several players with the view to them joining us at the Furness Building Society Stadium.

Conor Mitchell (Chester City)

Connor Mitchell has made 9 appearances for Chester City whilst at the Deva Stadium, 8 in the Vanarama National League and 1 appearance in the Cheshire Cup.  During his time at the Deva Stadium, Mitchell conceded just 11 goals.

Ntumba Massanka (Wrexham)


Having had successful loan spells at York City, Morecambe and Wrexham last season, Ntumba Massanka re-joined the welsh side at the start of this season and has been a regular making 24 Appearances, scoring 2 goals in the Vanarama National League.

Luke Hendrie (Bradford City)


Luke Hendrie has made 13 appearances for Bradford City so far this season and he will return to Turf Moor after this weekends Sky Bet League One fixtures.
