Dean Marney Interesting Nottingham Forest
The Daily Mirror have today reported identified Burnley midfielder Dean Marney as a summer target. The midfielders current contract with the Premier League Burnley runs out at the end of the season, with Forest looking to secure his signature as a free agent.
Marney has been out of action for more than a year after being sidelined with a ruptured cruciate ligament which he suffered during a 2-1 defeat away to Arsenal in 2017. However he is now back fit and returned to Burnley’s matchday squad last month, as an unused substitute in their last three games.
The former England Under-21 international started his career at Tottenham Hotspur having loan spells at Swindon Town, QPR, Gillingham and Norwich City, before joining Hull City in 2006. He spent four years with the Tigers before moving to Turf Moor in 2010, racking up more than 200 appearances for the club.
Forest currently have a plentiful supply of midfielders in their ranks, following work done in the transfer market by Aitor Karanka since he took charge this year.
