Glasgow Rangers Chasing Oli McBurnie
Steven Gerrard would like to make Scotland International striker Oli McBurnie a summer signing for Glasgow Rangers. Gerrard has made an opening bid of £4 million pounds for the Swansea City hitman, who starred in a loan spell with Barnsley.
The new Ibrox chief hopes Swansea will accept the cash despite the Welsh club planning to offer McBurnie a contract extension. McBurnie is a huge Rangers fan and the chance to join the Glasgow club will make the move virtually impossible to refuse. Several clubs including Leeds United and Derby County wanted to take McBurnie in the summer.
As the striker is entering the final year of his contract he could leave The Swans on a free transfer next summer. McBurnie started his career with Bradford City making 15 league appearances between 2013 and 2015. Following two loan spells at Chester City he joined Swansea City and has been limited to just 16 Premier League appearances.
The Scot has also spent time on loan at Newport County, Bristol City and most recently back in Yorkshire with Barnsley, where he’s scored nine goals in just seventeen games.
