Clarets Striker Available For Transfer

Jonathan Walters Available For Transfer

Burnley striker Jonathan Walters says he is available for transfer after holding talks with manager Sean Dyche. The Republic of Ireland international joined the Clarets from Stoke City for £3m last July but made just five appearances in his debut season, the last of those coming against Manchester City in the FA Cup on 6th January 2018.

Walters underwent knee surgery in late January but has been unable to break into the Burnley team since returning to full fitness. Speaking about his current position Walters said, “I’ve been fit for a while and in squads but not picked, I can’t moan too much the team are doing ever so well, but I’ve spoken to the manager and I’m available to go.

I’ve got to assess it and see what’s there, the conversation with Sean Dyche was “pretty straightforward” but I want to put my club future to one side and try to collect my 51st Ireland caps in their upcoming friendlies. I’m looking forward to getting out and playing these games, it’s so frustrating when you’re just sitting there and not playing.  You train all week and to not be involved at the weekend is tough.”
