Settle Continue Winning Start to Season
Settle Cricket Club captain Tom Davidson praised his side’s character as they held their nerve to continue their 100% start to the 2018 Ribblesdale League season. The defending champions looked in danger of losing their winning streak at 119-9 chasing Ribblesdale Wanderers’ 136 all out.
However, Jack Harrison (44 not out) and Josh Mallinder (seven) continued to bat and saw their side home to win by one wicket with only seven balls remaining. Speaking after the match Settle captain Tom Davidson said, “It was too close, we should never have let it get to that stage it was very pleasing to get the win. We were looking at a first defeat so it shows how much character we’ve got to pull it back. It meant a lot to the lads to win.”
