The new management team at Guiseley AFC have today started to re-structure the squad for the coming season in the Vanarama National League North having held contract talks with the players.
The club have today issued the retained list which includes a mix of experience and youth as the club looks to re-establish itself following relegation from the Vanarama National League, taking up options on both Joe Green and Curtis Morrison, whilst agreeing a new deal with Will Thornton who enters his third season with the senior squad after graduating from the academy.
The following players will also remain at the club under contract for the 2018/19 season, Harry Flowers, Alex Purver, Will Hatfield, John Rooney, Lee Molyneux, Alex-Ray Harvey, Reece Thompson, Dayle Southwell and Rowan Liburd.
The club has released the following fourteen players Ben Frempah, Danny Lowe, Elliot Green, Marcus Williams, Danny East, Rob Atkinson, Darren Holden, James Wesolowski, Jake Lawlor, Kevan Hurst, Callum McFadzean, Simon Lenighan, Andy Haworth and Mike Fondop, whilst striker Frank Mulhern has left the club to join Stockport County for an undisclosed fee.
Negotiations are continuing with other members of the squad from last season and all of the players from the club’s very successful academy side have been invited to take part in pre-season training and friendly games. Among them goalkeeper Fletcher Paley, who signed first team forms last season, whilst midfielders George Gomersall and Scott Smith are included after both spent last season out on loan to gain experience.
