Torquay United Sign Jean-Yves Koue Niate
Torquay United have today confirmed the signing defender Jean-Yves Koué Niate, who joins the squad after spells in France and Belgium before arriving in England in 2016. He joined Solihull Moors and then moved to Oxford City, Ebbsfleet United, and Guiseley AFC.
Speaking about the signing Torquay United manager Gary Owers said, “I am pleased to bring him to the club, he’s a big imposing character at six feet four inches, muscular and athletic, as well having experience of playing in the Vanarama National League.
I’am bringing him in to hopefully be the focal point of our defence, I’ve got two central defenders in George Essuman and Jakub Sokolik who could easily play in midfield so I could still add another centre-half should the chance arise. I think we definitely need another midfield player and looking at the forward line, maybe another attacker. We could still do with another three or four players and I’m working very hard to get them.”
