Sean Dyche Showing Interest In Alfie Mawson
According to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Burnley Football Club are interested in signing Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson. The defender stood out last season in a side that were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship and Mawson is certainly better than Championship standard and would get a starting place in most Premier League teams.
Swansea City signed him from Sky Bet League One side Barnsley where he made 50 appearances for the club scoring 9 goals in an impressive spell that earned him a big move to the Premier League. Mawson has gone on to make 71 appearances, scoring 7 goals for the Swans, whilst only picking up four yellow cards which is remarkable for a defender.
How strong Burnley’s interest actually is isn’t clear yet but it has been confirmed that there is at least some interest. How much he would cost is also unclear at the moment but current value is around £13 million, but given he’s a young English defender with lots of potential, I would add another few million pounds onto his price tag. A fee of around £20m would probably be more accurate.
