AFC Barrow Sign Lee Molyneux
AFC Barrow have today confirmed the signing of midfielder Lee Molyneux on a free transfer from Vanarama National league North side Guiseley AFC. Having joined the Lions in August 2017, he went on to make 20 appearances, scoring 2 goals for the club before moving to Chorley on loan in the later stages of the season where he helped them reach the Vanarama National League North Play-Offs.
Born on Merseyside, Molyneux spent his youth career at Everton before moving to Southampton where he made four first team appearances. A loan spell at Port Vale followed before he joined Plymouth Argyle where he made a further 9 appearances.
In August 2012, he made the move to Accrington Stanley and had a highly successful season playing 39 times, scoring 8 goals. This saw him catch the eye of Crewe Alexandra and the following summer he moved to Gresty Road on a two year contract, whilst there he had a loan spell at Rochdale before two spells back at Accrington Stanley.
A one year spell at Tranmere Rovers followed where he made 11 appearance before a summer move to Morecambe, which saw him make70 appearances, scoring 8 goals before dropping down to the Vanarama National League with Guiseley AFC last season.
