Clarets Chasing Abdoulaye Toure From Nantes
According to reports in L’Equipe this morning, the Clarets are set to make a move into the European transfer market with a bid of around €10-12m for the former France U21 International Abdoulaye Touré from Nantes.
Burnley have already offered the midfielder a five-year contract, but could face some competition from Sevilla should the La Liga side end up selling Steven N’Zonzi. Sean Dyche is already in negotiations with Nantes for Touré and it appears the early talks went well enough for the Premier League club to feel confident in getting their man.
The defensive midfielder has four years left on his current with the Ligue 1 side and was voted the team’s best player by their fans last season after Claudio Ranieri’s relatively successful season at the helm. Touré would be Burnley’s first acquisition of the summer, having seen Scott Arfield, Chris Long, Dean Marney and Tom Anderson all leave the club on free transfers.
