Clarets Chasing Warburton For Technical Director Role
Burnley are close to handing ex-Rangers manager Mark Warburton a return to football as the clubs new technical director, according to reports in the Sun. Warburton has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest and could assist the Clarets boss Sean Dyche in player recruitment at Turf Moor.
Dyche, who complained about the transfer activity at the club this summer after all three additions Joe Hart, Ben Gibson and Matej Vydra arrived a week before the window closed. This saw the Premiership club turn to recruitment experts Nolan Partners to lead a search for the new man who will play a major role in clubs future signings.
Sean Dyche and Mark Warburton are already close friends following their time working together on the backroom staff at Watford Football Club. Warburton has management experience having been the boss at Rangers between 2015 and 2017, but has been out of football management since being sacked by Nottingham Forest last December.
