Jimmy Dunne Returns to Turf Moor After Hearts Loan Deal
Burnley Football Club have this morning confirmed that Jimmy Dunne is officially back at Turf Moor after reaching the end of his loan spell at Hearts. The defender returned to the Clarets for treatment after sustaining an ankle injury at the end of November and his stay with the Scottish Premier League side has now expired, making him available for the Clarets or another potential loan move.
Dunne’s stay at Tynecastle was a major success as he racked up 14 starting appearances for Craig Levein’s side, scoring twice. Having signed a new contract at Turf Moor last summer before moving north of the border at the end of August, helping Hearts enjoy a flying start to their league campaign whilst reaching the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.
Dunne, who helped Accrington Stanley win the League Two title during a loan spell with the Reds in the second half of last season, also received a first call-up to the full Republic of Ireland squad for their Nations League qualifier in Denmark in November.
