Striker Chris long Joins Blackpool Football Club
Blackpool Football Club have today confirmed the signing of striker Chris Long on a contract until the end of the season. Long, is a former England youth international who represented his country at U16 to U20 levels.
He started his career on the books of Everton making his first-team debut in a Europa League game against Krasnodar. In July 2015, he joined Burnley for an undisclosed fee prior to scoring goals on loan at Fleetwood Town and Bolton Wanderers.
Last season he had a year-long loan spell with Northampton Town where he found the net on nine occasions in Sky Bet League One. Having moved back to Fleetwood Town in the summer, he is now reunited at Blackpool with Terry McPhillips who coached him as a player in the Everton academy.
Speaking about signing Long, Blackpool manager McPhillips said, “Chris is someone I know well from my days working with him at Everton and he has always had great potential. The boy just wants to play and score goals. His arrival strengthens our options in the final third and knowing him personally, he will fit into our dressing room very well.”
