Ali Koiki Joins Swindon Town On Loan
Burnley Football Club have today confirmed that young left-back Ali Koiki has joined Swindon Town on loan until the end of the season. This will provide him with his first chance of League football playing in Sky Bet League Two with the Robins.
Koiki’s switch to the County Ground follows an impressive run of games in the Clarets U23 side. He has also been training within the senior squad at Turf Moor and has been part of the Clarets match-day squad in recent weeks as an unused substitute.
However, with Charlie Taylor in the first team and with the return to fitness of Stephen Ward the defensive unit back up to strength. Koiki’s move to Swindon, where he will play alongside and under the guidance of former Claret and current Town player-coach Matty Taylor, continues Burnley’s policy of looking to find loan moves for their young players to give them the experience of competitive first-team football.
Speaking about the loan move manager Sean Dyche said, “It’s Ali’s first time away from us, but he’s been going on nicely and needs that challenge. We want our young players to go and grow as professionals on and off the pitch and learn what life is all about, so we wish him well.”
Koiki, who joined the Clarets in July, 2016, signed a professional contract last summer for 12 months with a further year’s option.
