Lewis Richardson Starts For England In Agean Cup
Clarets youngster Lewis Richardson is set to add to his England caps when he starts against host nation Turkey in a group decider in the Agean Cup today. The striker, who is a member of the Clarets’ Academy, is part of the England U16 squad playing in an eight team tournament.
Richardson, scored as a substitute as England beat Moldova 5-1 in their last game and will start against Turkey in Tire, with both sides boasting a 100% record from their first two games in Group A. The group winners will go through to the final where they will face Russia or Spain on Saturday with the runners-up facing a third-place play-off.
England U16 Coach Kevin Betsy said, “Lewis came off the bench to score and did really well. All of your staff at Burnley should be really proud of the work you have done with Lewis who is an excellent player and a credit to Burnley Football Club.”
