Bantams Loan Jones to Cambridge United
Bradford City have this afternoon confirmed that Alex Jones has joined Sky Bet League Two side Cambridge United on loan until the end of the season. The injury hit striker has made just three substitute appearances this season, his final game against Coventry City back in October only lasted ten minutes before he pulled up with a hamstring injury.
Jones, who joined the Bantams from Birmingham City has made just thirty appearances for the club, scoring ten goals. Manager David Hopkin has advised the striker that he is no longer in his first team plans and with his contract due to expire in the summer the striker has made the decision to move to the Abbey Stadium.
Cambridge United are currently nineteenth in Sky Bet League Two just five points above the relegation zone. Speaking about the move Alex Jones said, “I knew there was interest at the start of the window and it’s been bubbling away in the background for a few weeks so I’m really delighted that the deal is now sorted.
