Guiseley AFC Sign Kidderminster Defender Kennedy Digie
Guiseley AFC have this morning confirmed the signing of defender Kennedy Digie from Kidderminster for a nominal fee. Digie who has signed a contract until June 2020 is set to make his Lions debut at Nethermoor Park against Stockport County this weekend.
Digie has spent much of his time at Kidderminster out on loan at Stourbridge, Worcester City, Nuneaton Borough, Hednesford Town and York City chalking up 130 appearances, mostly at Hednesford Town on a full season loan. Guiseley joint manager Russ O’Neil was delighted to have signed him as a several other clubs were interested in signing him.
Speaking about signing for the club Kennedy Digie said, “I am delighted to be signing for Guiseley and I know quite a bit about them as I used to play with their former Academy player Ben Whitfield at Kidderminster. I saw them play earlier in the season and they looked a good strong team. I don’t think that they should be where they are in the table and I’m looking forward to helping the club move up the table.
I spent time on loan at York City and it was my first time up north and I really enjoyed it there but I needed a permanent move. This is a good time for me to make that move and kick on. I feel that I should have played a bit more than I did at Kidderminster and I’ am raring to go and I want to prove some people wrong.”
