Rowan Liburd Makes International Debut
Guiseley striker Rowan Liburd was this weekend selected to represent his country in their international match against Suriname in the CONCACAF Nations League. It was the first time Liburd had been selected for St Kitts & Nevis by manager Jacques Passy.
Liburd, started the match alongside his strike partner Harrison Panayiotou at the Andre Kamperveen Stadium, however the Lions striker only managed one shot on target in the first-half on thirty-eight minute. St Kitts & Nevis have been drawn in “Group B” and will play against Antigua and Barbuda, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Bermuda, Guyana, Belize, Suriname and Curacao.
The Sugar Boyz currently sit fourteenth in the CONCACAF National League out of thirty four teams and they must finish in the top ten in order to qualify for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Liburd will be against another local striker when St Kitts & Nevis face Bermuda as former Bradford City striker Nahki Wells will lead the line for the opponents.
