Reece Thompson Receives Forty Month Prison Sentence 

Guiseley AFC have this afternoon confirmed they have release striker Reece Thompson from his contract with immediate effort.  The striker who has been out on loan and has not featured for the club since September 2018, has appeared in Nottingham Crown Court on the 3rd April 2019, where he was sentenced to forty months in prison.

The Lincolnshire Echo reported that a woman says she was beaten with an iron bar, forced to eat paint and smashed over the head with two mirrors in a horrific ordeal at the hands of a footballer. Reece Thompson pleaded guilty to damaging property, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and inflicting grievous bodily harm when he appeared in court.

Thompson, who started his career at Lincoln City has gone on to represent Retford United, Boston United, York City, North Ferriby United and Guiseley AFC, was jailed for forty months and also received a 10-year restraining order. His victim has revealed she was abused & humiliated in a devastating series of attacks which left her with a broken jaw.

She said, Thompson rubbed glass into her back and threatened to make her run down the street naked. The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, suffered horrific bruising on her body and her face was blackened after the attack, which went on for three days.

She told Lincolnshire Echo, “Reece repeatedly hit me, he hit me with an iron bar, broke my jaw and smashed a mirror over my head. I was made to lick paint up off the floor and then he smashed another mirror over my head. It was when he picked up the second mirror that I thought I was going to die, I screamed for him to stop or he would kill me. He told me to get my arms down and take the beating like a real person.”
