Andy Payton Named Garstang Football Club Manager
Garstang Football Club have this afternoon announced the appointment of former Clarets striker Andy Payton as the clubs First Team Manager with immediate effect. Payton takes his first managers post following a long professional career at Hull City, Middlesbrough, Celtic, Barnsley, Huddersfied Town, Burnley and Blackpool Football Club.
During his fantastic career Andy Payton has made 588 appearances and scoring 226 goals before moving into coaching, where he has had spells as assistant manager at both Colne and Padiham Football Clubs and more recently as first team coach at Hallmark Security Premier League side Northwich Victoria.
Speaking about his appointment the new Garstang manager Andy Payton said, “I am excited at the prospect of joining such a progressive and successful Football Club. I am looking forward to working with the strong playing squad already in place. My objective is to build on the clubs excellent debut season last year in the Hallmark Securities League and push Garstang FC on to the next level.”
