Leeds United Preparing £10 Million Offer For Matej Vydra
According to reports in the national press Leeds United are preparing to make a move for Burnley striker Matej Vydra. The Clarets are open to offers of around £10 million for the striker. Leeds United were said to be strongly pursuing Vydra last season, with Sky Sports reporting a move fell through over personal terms.
Vydra elected to move to Burnley due to their Premier League status and the fact that the club had reached the Europa League last season. His time with the Clarets has not been a complete success, having only started three Premier League games plus a further ten more appearances from the bench, scoring just once.
Vydra is a proven Championship goalscorer finishing as top scorer in 2017/18 with 21 goals for Derby County. However, he has found it difficult to break into the first team falling behind the effective duo of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes in the pecking order.
After coming so close and missing out on promotion last season, Leeds United fans may consider that the £10 million price tag for Vydra is money well spent. However its not just the transfer costs that could make Leeds United look for another option as the Czech forward will have high wage demands.
