Stoke City Chasing Joe Hart
Stoke City are believed to be lining up Joe Hart to replace Jack Butland this summer, the Potters are bracing themselves for a £20million bid for the England goalkeeper to return to the Premier League. The club are set to launch a bid for his old Three Lions rival Hart should they lose Jack Butland with Aston Villa among the clubs weighing up a move.
It’s understood that Dean Smith’s side are ready to launch a bid for the shot stopper, Hart lost his place at Burnley mid-season when Tom Heaton returned to fitness and claimed the No1 jersey at Turf Moor. Sean Dyche also has Nick Pope, who has signed a new contract and could let Hart leave for a portion of the £3.5million paid to Manchester City last year.
Hart went to Torino in Italy to restart his career before a spell at West Ham and getting back to regular Premier League football through Championship promotion could appeal to him. Butland and Hart were competing for England No1 before Jordan Pickford climbed ahead of them in Gareth Southgate’s pecking order.
