Stephen Ward Joins Stoke City On One Year Contract
Stoke City have today completed their sixth signing of the summer with experienced Republic of Ireland international defender Stephen Ward joining on a one year contract. The defender joins the Potters after spending the last three years playing in the Premier League with Burnley.

Ward’s arrival comes less than 24 hours after the Club confirmed the signings of Adam Davies, Liam Lindsay, Lee Gregory, Nick Powell and Jordan Cousins. Manager Nathan Jones said, “He’s a wonderful player with great experience, not least because he has won the Sky Bet Championship title twice. I’ve worked with Stephen in the past when he was on loan at Brighton Hove Albion and I know that technically he’s very, very good.
The former Clarets defender will link up with another ex-claret at the Britannia Stadium, after Sam Vokes moved to the Potters in the last January transfer window. Ward, who was capped 50 times by the Republic of Ireland made a total of 113 appearances for the Clarets.
