Burnley Interested in Genk Winger Mbwana Smatta
According to reports on Wales Online website, Cardiff City are in battle with Burnley, Watford, Leicester City and Middlesbrough to sign Genk winger Mbwana Samatta. The Tanzania international, who is currently playing in the African Cup of Nations has scored thirty-two goals last season and would likely cost in the region of £11million.
Fotospor claim that Turkish club Fenerbahce are also interested in the player but believe they are likely to be priced out of a move for Samatta because of his transfer fee. They say that Fenerbahce would not be able to pay the fee because of their financial situation.
Lazio and Schalke are also said to be keen on the twenty-six year-old and could make an offer. However Samatta is under contract with Genk until June 2021.
