Clarets Set to Lose Matej Vydra As He Hands In Transfer request
Clarets striker Matej Vydra has handed in a transfer request to leave the club in order to search of more first team football. The Czech Republic International has moved further down the pecking order after the summer signing of Jay Rodriguez.
Vydra, made just three Premier League starts in his first season with the Clarets and is now looking for first team football, he is now looking to move on and there are a number of clubs are interested in the frontman, including Leeds United who tried to sign the striker before his move to Turf Moor.
Much of the interest from the continent is for a loan move but the striker is keen to leave Turf Moor on a permanent deal, Vydra could move before Thursday’s transfer deadline day but he could still leave later this month with Premier League sides able to sell players to clubs abroad until the end of August.
The former Derby County man also has one eye on next summer’s European Championships with his national side and wants regular football to preserve his international future. While there has been interest in the player, there have been no firm bids as of yet. Vydra joined Burnley for £11million from Derby a year ago having finished as the top scorer in the Championship but has been unable to force his way into Dyche’s first team thinking.
