George Green Joins Ossett United Football Club
Ossett United Football Club have this afternoon confirmed the signing of attacking midfielder and former Premier League player George Green, who has spent time at Bradford City, Everton, Oldham Athletic, Burnley and Viking Football Clubs

George Green started as a youth player with Bradford City before being signed by Everton in October 2011 for an initial fee of £300,000 that could have risen even higher as £2M plus a signing on fee £45,000. He joined the Toffee’s youth team and was a member of the side that won the 2014 U18 Premier League.
He went on loan to Tranmere Rovers in March 2015 and a month later he made his debut scoring an injury-time equaliser in a game against AFC Wimbledon. In June 2015, Green left Everton after nearly four years at the club without making a senior appearance. Nine days later, he agreed to join Sky Bet League One club Oldham Athletic on a two-year deal with an option of a third year, but voluntarily terminated his contract that November. On 8 November 2015, Green signed for non-league club Ossett Albion on a non contract basis making his debut against Mossley.
A move to Premier League side Burnley followed in January 2016 and after seven months in the Development squad he made a loan move to Scottish Premier League Kilmarnock on the 12th August 2016. After returning to Turf Moor and signing a contract extention he joined Vanarama National League North Salford City on loan, before being released by the Clarets in the summer of 2017 and joined Viking Football Club in Norway, approximately three months later on the 21st November 2017, his contract was terminated due to an off the field incident.
Since returned to England, Green has travelled around the non-league spending time at National League North side Nuneaton Town before a move to Chester on a one year contract on the 17th July 2018. He was released by the club at the end of the season and joined Boston United in June 2019, before finishing the season on loan at Gainsborough Trinity. This afternoon he has returned to Yorkshire signing for Ossett United.
Speaking about the clubs latest signing manager Wayne Benn said, “I’m delighted that George Green has decided to join Ossett United despite interest from other clubs. His desire to join us was really refreshing and I’m really looking forward to working with him”
