Former Clarets Defender Joins Northern Premier League Club

Tyler Williams Joins Stalybridge Celtic

Stalybridge Celtic have this afternoon confirmed they have signed former Clarets defender Tyler Williams following the end of his scholarship at Preston North End, the young centre back arrived at Deepdale back in April 2018, after a spell with Lancashire Premier League neighbours Burnley Football Club.

He had previously been involved with Oldham Athletic’s academy and at 6ft 4 inches the Stockport born Williams is an authoritative defender. Tyler Williams will officially join Stalybridge Celtic at the end of his Preston North End scholarship on the 30th June. He was a key part of the Preston North End U18’s side that made it to the 5th round of the FA Youth Cup this season.

After making the move to the Northern Premier League side, Williams told the club’s website, “I am delighted to sign with the club, I can’t wait to get started and get back on the pitch, playing football under some great management and with some really talented players.” He joins the same side that fellow Preston North End youngsters Ethan Walker and Adam O’Reilly have spent time at on loan, the latter in particular impressed manager Simon Haworth during his time at the club.
